Special Church Business Meeting - Sunday April 29th, 10;30 AM

In accordance with the by-laws, a special church business meeting is being announced two weeks prior to occurrence.

Special Church Business Meeting
Sunday, April 29th @ 10:30 AM

Simple Vote (YES or NO):

The Wellington First Assembly of God board of deacons is authorized to purchase a single-family home, with a minimum of 20% down payment and not to exceed a total outlay of $12,000 for the sole purpose of providing clergy housing.

Rational
Over the last 18 months, we have been working on a long-term church revitalization plan, which includes the transition to new senior leadership in five years.  On Palm Sunday, we had our second visit from Pastor Caleb Foster, along with his wife Samantha and their extended family.  We are excited to be bringing him on staff and look forward to their family moving to Wellington this summer.

As we all know, our church is unable to pay a full-time pastoral salary at this time; Caleb has already acquired a full-time job in the community for the fall.  We believe that combined with other initiatives, this church will continue to grow in the community and within several years we will be able to pay Caleb a full-time salary.  Until that point, it is our responsibility to help his family acquire affordable housing.

As part of our salary agreement with him, we have offered the Foster family up to $12,000 to be used as a down payment for a house in Wellington, or use that amount to purchase a house that can be used as a parsonage and then, after two years, signed over to them.

Thank you for praying this through as we continue to expand the full gospel message in our community.

If anyone has questions or concerns, you may feel free to ask Pastor Marvin, Rodney Metz, or Amy Gagich.
